Student Wellbeing

You Can Do It! Education

You Can Do It! Education's main purpose is to provide all children with the foundations for achievement and social/emotional wellbeing in school, work and the world of tomorrow.  Our 6 Foundation Keys for success are Respect, Resilience, Confidence, Persistence, Organisation and Getting Along.  A regular newsletter page is issued celebrating children's achievements both academically and socially.

Values Education

Each fortnight students and teachers focus on a particular value that assists in creating a safe  and supportive learning environment for all.  Values taught include patience, friendliness, tolerance, courtesy, caring, respect, responsibility, excellence, consideration and helpfulness to name a few.

Student Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct for students at Timbarra Primary School has been formulated within, and is consistent with, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) guidelines and regulations.

Handy Mates

A number of Year 5/6 students are trained each year as "Handy Mates" or "Peer Mediators".  Peer mediation involves the students being trained to lead other students through a structured process to resolve disputes.

We seek to empower students by teaching them the skills they need to resolve conflicts. This improves relationships and allows for the possibility that conflict can be productive and positive.

The self-empowering aspect of mediation makes it an important tool for fostering self-regulation, self-esteem and self-discipline.

Buddy Grades

Each grade in the school is paired up with a "Buddy Grade".  These classes may undertake cooperative group work, singing, drama and craft activities, reading and most importantly, building positive relationships.

PERC (Parent Education Resource Centre)

The PERC is located in the Administration Block and contains a range of books that are available for parents to borrow at any time. Titles include Bully Busting, Raising Boys, Raising Girls.

Parent’s Corner

In the Newsletter each fortnight is the Parent's Corner.  This page contains a variety of articles related to parents and raising children.
